Cellphones deemed cancer-free

New studies show there is less of a correlation between the use of cellular phones and the risk of cancer.

According to Health Canada’s website, the organization has been looking at the effects that radiofrequency could have on DNA from an electromagnetic standpoint.

“Based upon extensive scientific research conducted over the past 50 years […] Health Canada has concluded that there is no scientific basis to consider exposure to radiofrequency energy from wireless communications devices dangerous to the health of Canadians, provided that they operate within the limits specified in Industry Canada’s regulatory documents,” Gary Holub, media relations officer for Health Canada, said.

According to Holub, after conducting research at levels above Canadian and international safety standards, it is reinforced that radiofrequency at lower levels does not prose a threat to humans.
