Letter to the Editor

Goldfarb’s platform is practical

To the editor:

It amazes me to see how University Students’ Council presidential candidate Marshall Goldfarb is constantly referred to as the “idealist” everyday candidate in the media. Has anyone been following the debates?

He has a realistic platform that will leave an impact on our campus for years to come. For once, there is a candidate who believes a Western community means more than making it easier for students to join the USC. Wake up call: not every undergraduate wants to join the USC.

Secondly, every candidate claims to be able to control the debt they will inherit upon election. Once again, has anyone looked at the candidates’ platforms? Each candidate (with the exception of Goldfarb) plans to increase services and implement idealistic plans, which will no doubt require increased and unanswered funding.

More comfortable toilet paper sounds nice; but how can you justify frivolous spending when the USC has experienced a $1 million loss. Goldfarb is not idealistic. His platform is practical and well suited to inherit the USC’s potential debt in the next fiscal year.

This letter was well written, intelligent, and seemingly bipartisan… until I read the author’s name. Damnit England, use a pseudonym next time.
