Homemade lemon ginger tea

Soothing homemade lemon ginger tea

Even though the sun is shining and spring is peaking around the corner, I’ve found my mood has been dampened by the onset of a head cold. I drink tea like it’s my job when I’m battling a sore throat or congestion, and I’ve found that ginger tea has been an especially effective remedy.

This tea is a classic and has been passed down from generation to generation. The ingredients help boost the immune system and soothe the soul.

You’ll need…

- Ginger
- Honey
- Lemon juice

Directions

- Slice and peal ginger (about six thin slices) and add slices to a small pot of water.
- Boil until the liquid turns golden (ideally about 10-15 minutes).
- If using real lemons rather than concentrate, place a couple of lemon slices in a mug.
- Remove the ginger slices from the pot, and pour tea into the mug.
- Sweeten with honey and add a couple more squeezes of lemon juice.

*If you’re pressed for time, you can always throw all of the ingredients together in a mug and pour in boiling water.
