Dragons’ Den visits Western

The production team of the business-focused CBC TV show, Dragons’ Den, is holding auditions at Western.

The show encourages all students to come and share their business ideas, even if they have no experience.

“Students tend to have a great business sense and they could definitely do great on the show,” Katie Cumby, associate producer of Dragons’ Den, said.

Students will have five minutes to convince the producers their idea is worth investing in.

“Be prepared to the best of your ability and make sure you know your numbers. It doesn’t hurt to know about the show as well,” Cumby said.

She mentioned the majority of the questions asked by the producers during auditions will be similar to those asked on the show.

To make it more interesting, the show is adding on a  “Greenvention” prize of $100,000 — open to participants with eco-friendly ideas.

“Anyone with a great idea and solid business sense should definitely come,” Cumby added.

Make sure to bring your completed application form, which can be found online.

Open auditions will be held today from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Room 1139 in Althouse College, 1137 Western Rd.
