Gazette tested: holiday casserole

Start a new holiday tradition with this wintery comfort-casserole that’s cheap and easy to make.

Prep Time: 1 hour
Cook time: 1 hour

What You’ll Need:
- a large casserole dish or baking pan
- 1 bag or box of spaghetti
- 3 sweet peppers
- 1 can of corn
- mushrooms
- a large package of ground beef
- 1 large brick of cheddar or marble cheese
- 2 small cans of tomato paste
- 2 cans of tomato soup
- paprika, salt and pepper

 

Directions:
1. Cook pasta
2. Cut peppers into cubes and slice mushrooms
3. Fry peppers and mushrooms together
4. Place cooked pasta, peppers and mushrooms into baking pan
5. Cook beef, place into baking pan
6. Pour corn, both cans of tomato paste and both cans of tomato soup into baking pan
7. Sprinkle paprika, salt and pepper to taste in baking pan
8. Mix all ingredients well
9. Grate cheese and sprinkle a thick layer on top of casserole
10. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes or until cheese is bubbling and golden at edges
